Terms of use

Homerise is operated by Homerise Energy, a trading name of Pipereply Pty Ltd (ACN 666 436 586, ABN 71 666 436 586), a private company based in Brisbane, Queensland, not affiliated with any government agency.

In short: Homerise is free, gives you an indicative estimate and one installer at a time, and never sells you anything itself. Your installer is the seller, and your consumer rights are unaffected.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Homerise website, estimates and installer matching (the “service”), which is operated by Homerise Energy, a trading name of Pipereply Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). By using the service you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

Homerise is a private company. We are not a government agency, and we don't administer any rebate or incentive program.

2. What we do, and what we don't

We:

  • explain solar, battery and rebate options in general terms;
  • give you an automated, indicative estimate for your home or business;
  • match you with one participating installer at a time and, with your consent, prepare a preliminary proposal using that installer's own products and prices;
  • pass your enquiry to that installer when you choose to continue with them; they may then contact you about it.

We don't:

  • sell, supply, design or install solar panels, batteries or other equipment;
  • enter into any purchase agreement with you, or take payments or deposits from you;
  • act as your agent, broker or adviser, or give personal financial, tax or legal advice.

Your installer is the seller. Any quote, agreement, deposit, design, installation and warranty is between you and the installer named on your proposal.

3. How we're paid

The service is free for you. Installers pay us for introducing you. It's the same for every installer, doesn't change the order in which installers are offered to you, and isn't added to your price as a separate charge.

Because installers pay us, we are not an independent or unbiased comparison service, and we don't compare every installer or product available in the market.

4. Estimates, rebates and proposals

  • Estimates are indicative. They are calculated automatically from what you tell us, typical market or installer prices, and the rebate rules current on the date shown. Savings and payback figures are estimates, not promises, and depend on how you use energy, your tariffs and future prices.
  • Rebates are set by governments and can change. We show the rebates and incentives that may apply and when we last checked them. Eligibility is confirmed by your installer, and a rebate shown as “to confirm” isn't deducted from your price.
  • A preliminary proposal isn't an offer. It is prepared from the installer's price list and is subject to their review. The installer's accredited designer confirms the system and price from your photos, bill, roof and site, and may need to change it, for example for a switchboard upgrade. Nothing is binding until you sign the installer's own proposal or agreement.
  • Prices include GST unless we say otherwise, and are held for the period shown on your proposal.

5. Installer matching

We offer installers one at a time, in a set order among the installers who cover your postcode and meet our published standard (4.5★ or higher across 25+ reviews on Google or another public review site, 3+ years trading, licensed, insured and re-checked every 90 days). We check these things when an installer joins and regularly after, but we don't guarantee an installer's work, and meeting our standard isn't a promise that an installer is the best choice for you.

You can ask for an option from another participating installer at any time, with no waiting period, up to 3 in total, one at a time. We ask your consent each time. If the previous installer already has your details, we close that introduction and ask them to stop sales follow-up; this doesn't delete information they already hold (see your enquiry). We may not have an installer for every area or system.

6. Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information, and only use a mobile number and email that are yours.
  • Only upload photos and documents you're entitled to share, and avoid capturing other people or unneeded personal documents.
  • Don't misuse the service: no automated access, scraping, attempts to bypass verification or security checks, false enquiries, or anything unlawful or harmful.
  • You must be 18 or over and the owner of the property, or have the owner's permission, to ask for a proposal for it.

You keep ownership of what you upload. You allow us to use it to provide the service, including sharing it with your installer.

7. AI features

The automatic reading of uploaded power bills uses AI. AI can make mistakes: check the figures it reads before you confirm them. Piper's tips are general information, not advice or a quote. Your installer confirms everything that goes into your final proposal.

8. Messages from us

By verifying your mobile you agree that we can message you about your enquiry by text or email. We won't call you unless you ask. Marketing messages are only sent if you opt in, and you can stop them at any time (reply STOP, or use the unsubscribe link).

9. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that can't be excluded. Goods and installation services come with consumer guarantees that are the responsibility of the installer who supplies them.

Subject to those rights, we aren't responsible for the goods, services, advice or conduct of an installer, or for loss that arises because the final system, price or rebate differs from an estimate or preliminary proposal. We take care to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error free or uninterrupted.

10. Our content

The website, its content, design and estimate tools belong to us or our licensors. You can use them for your own personal or business decision-making, but you may not copy, resell or reproduce them without our permission.

11. Complaints

If you're unhappy with our service, email hello@homerise.com.au. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

For problems with your system, quote, installation or warranty, contact your installer first. If it isn't resolved, you can contact the fair trading or consumer affairs office in your state or territory. Privacy complaints can also go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (see our privacy policy).

12. Changes, and the law that applies

We may update these terms as the service changes; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes don't affect a proposal or agreement you already have with an installer. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. This doesn't take away any protection you have under the laws of the state or territory where you live.
