Run by an Aura local
Homerise is run by Joern Haake, who lives in Aura and has worked in renewable energy since 2013. He reads every guide before it goes live, including this one. If you live in Baringa, Nirimba, Banya or Gagalba and would rather talk it through with a neighbour before you get a price, email hello@homerise.com.au with "Aura" in the subject and Joern will give you a call. No sales pitch: he isn't an installer.
Aura is the community's name, not ours: Homerise isn't connected with Stockland, Aura's developer.

Homes in Aura: new builds, and what to ask
Most Aura homes are new, so the questions are a little different from an older suburb's:
- Your home came with solar? Find the inverter's brand and model and the panel count before you ask for a battery price: they decide whether a battery can join your system or needs a new hybrid inverter. Read adding a battery to existing solar.
- Building now? Ask your builder where a battery and an inverter could go (out of the afternoon sun), and whether the switchboard and meter box have room for them. It's cheaper to plan than to move later.
- Covenants: new estates can have building and design rules. Check yours before panels go on a street-facing roof.
At the 2021 Census, the postal area had 68,286 people in 31,107 homes, 71% of them separate houses, and 32% owned with a mortgage (ABS). Aura has grown a lot since, so the next Census will look different.
How much power do panels make in Aura?
At Caloundra West, each kW of north-facing panels (tilted 20°) makes about 1,660 kWh a year on NREL's PVWatts model: about 158 kWh in November and about 109 in June. A 10 kW system, close to the size the coast is putting in, makes roughly 16,500 kWh a year and about 36 kWh on an average June day.
What does solar cost in Aura?
Aura prices follow south-east Queensland (October 2026, installed, after the federal rebates, GST included): 6.6 kW of solar costs about $4,500 to $8,500, 10 kW about $8,000 to $11,500, and 6.6 kW with a 15 kWh battery about $13,500 to $23,000. The full table is in our guide to solar and batteries in Brisbane. Your own price depends on your roof and switchboard.
What rebates can Aura homes get?
Aura is in STC zone 3, so the federal solar rebate is about $1,665 on a 6.6 kW system, and the federal battery rebate about $3,663 on a 15 kWh battery, if installed now; both fall from 1 January 2027. They're already taken off the prices above. There's no Queensland Government solar or battery program open to homeowners right now.
